Catalyst 2024 Immersive Experience: “Visible”

“Visible showcased stories of formerly homeless individuals helped by Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. The gallery featured powerful installations representing “Catalyst moments”—a moment in the graduate's journey in which they went from feeling invisible to visible.

As attendees entered the gallery, they were met with a striking black-and-white wall featuring a vignette of a figure behind the shadows—a powerful representation of how unhoused individuals are often overlooked. Beyond this wall, vibrant color filled the space, symbolizing the transformation from lost to found.

Each of the five installations were designed in a distinct hue, reinforcing the journey of program graduates who have regained visibility. Graduates in attendance wore colors matching their sets, further bringing their stories to life. In addition to being able to engage with the installations themselves, from touching objects to watching video and listening to audio, interactive vignettes enabled guests to meet Mission graduates.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission's Catalyst 2024, was a transformative and successful fundraising event, raising $1.3 million to address the city's homelessness crisis, an increase of 20% from 2023’s benefit event.

Past attendees praised the event calling the immersive experience, “Visible,” the most impactful yet.
